Basketball Clinic

  • WELCOME to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley Basketball Clinic. Our Clinic has grown to become the largest and most popular basketball skill teaching clinic for youth in our valley. Over the last 10 years we have trained over 1,600 athletes including 165 last year.
  • IMPACT The Clinic is designed for the physical needs of young players. Our clinic is dedicated to helping young people become the best basketball players and people they can be. We teach youth to play at a higher skill level, with confidence and to have FUN doing it!
  • ATHLETE FIRST, WINNING SECOND Places skill development, sportsmanship and fun ahead of winning.
  • STAFF We select excellent teachers and coaches of the game who will invest in each athlete.
  • SKILLS Skill development is crucial to success. We introduce and build basic fundamentals of the game including: shooting, dribbling, passing and defense. This gives each participant the opportunity to learn and improve their overall skills and knowledge of the game.
  • SESSIONS Six (1) hour long sessions differ slightly for each age group including actual scrimmage games for 1st and 2nd graders:
    • Kindergarten- 9-10am, six teaching clinics
    • 1st Grade- 10-11am, four teaching clinics and two games
    • 2nd Grade- 11-12pm, three teaching clinics and three games
  • ATMOSPHERE The energy, enthusiasm and positive environment of the Clinic brings excitement to players allowing them to grow as basketball players and to have fun doing it.
  • PAYMENT Participation in all club programs including athletics requires a current Club Membership. The Basketball Clinic fee is $50.00, which includes a T-shirt. Discount of $5 for each additional child registering from the same household.
  • LATE Participation after the registration deadline cannot be guaranteed. Late registrations may be taken for an additional $10.00 fee.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley are proud of everyone involved in our athletic programs. In an effort to encourage and create a positive, safe & enjoyable environment we present the NO TOLERANCE POLICY for all athletic events. We want everyone involved to enjoy athletics in a mature and responsible manner.

We encourage and expect all coaches, spectators and players to:

·Know and follow the rules and the intent of the rules

·Respect players, fans, referees and the referees decision

·Place safety, enjoyment and education of others above all else, including winning

·Remember that children play for FUN

·Never engage in unsportsmanlike behavior

·Never use abusive or foul language

·Encourage in a manner that inspires without belittling others

·Encourage players to respect opponents, coaches and referees

·Avoid criticizing players for mistakes, mistakes are part of learning

·Be supportive of the teams& represent yourself in a positive manner

Inappropriate behavior may result in expulsion from the current game and/or future games. If needed, a meeting with the Athletic Director will be set up to discuss further action. Decisions made will be fair and in the best interest of the athletic program and its members.
