A key component of the solution is out-of-school time
Youth of the Year promotes and celebrates service to Club, community, and family, academic performance, moral character, life goals, poise and public speaking ability.
Our organization selects one Youth of the Year from members ages 14-18 who then proceeds to a state-wide competition. If chosen as the state winner they will have the opportunity to compete in a regional competition. The five regional winners across the country then compete for the National Youth of the Year. This honor is installed by the President of the United States of America.
Last year more than 600 guests attended the gala event, which again this year will feature both a live and silent auction, and is slated to raise more than $500,000 for Boys & Girls Club programs.
Funds raised provide youth development programs that help members, more than 4,200 kids locally, become more responsible, caring and productive citizens.
