Health & Life Skills

Programs in Health and Life Skills develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.

The SMART Moves (Skills Mastery And Resistance Training) prevention/education program addresses problems such as drug and alcohol use and premature sexual activity.

The ultimate goal is to promote abstinence from substance abuse and adolescent sexual involvement through the practice of responsible behavior.

SMART Girls (aka Girls Club) is a health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program for teen girls.

The program is designed to encourage healthy attitudes and lifestyles that will enable early adolescent girls to develop to their full potential.

Passport to Manhood (aka Manly Men Club) promotes and teaches responsibility in teen Club boys.

This program represents a targeted effort to engage teen boys in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior.
